Wolves 0 – 2 MAN CITY – PLAYER RATINGS
23 Apr
Hart - Made a couple of impressive stops but wasn’t tested too often. Handling was good though distribution, notably in seeking out Clichy and Zabaleta, was poor - 6
Zabaleta - Offered a constant threat all afternoon with his bursts down the right though struggled at times to find the right ball in the final third. Was troubled on occasions by the trickery of Jarvis but solid enough - 7
Kompany - Dominant when crosses came into the box and read the game well, nullifying Fletcher’s presence for the most part. Played far too many long passes though instead of keeping the ball on the ground and building from the back - 7
Lescott – Returned to his former club and produced another efficient display. Defensively sound and went close at the other end with a header - 7
Clichy - The outstanding performer in the match. Against the dangerous Kightly, he was superb in preventing crosses whilst his throughball for Aguero’s goal was simply sublime. This was another all-action showing from Clichy and he’s been rightly lauded for it - 8.5
Barry - At times in the first half he struggled to impose himself but improved vastly after the break to produce an impressive second half showing. Mopped up in midfield, retained possession well and kept play ticking over - 7.5
Y. Touré - Like Barry, he found it tough in the first half as Wolves outnumbered us in midfield, but he was moved further forward following De Jong’s introduction and was far more influential - 7
Nasri - Took his goal clinically, but apart from that moment, I felt this was another disappointing Nasri display. Never seemed to get involved and when he did, he rarely made an impact. Has a habit of scoring important goals but I’d still like to see more consistency over the 90 minutes - 5.5
Silva - His control, movement and ability to glide away from players was at its very best, but the most concerning element was his lack of end product. His final touch has deserted him and although he continues to look bright, that is the one aspect still yet to click - 6
Tévez - Another bustling performance, harrying the Wolves backline and linking up well with Aguero. Quick thinking enabled the second goal although he was a touch wasteful at times - 7
Aguero - Profligate in front of goal in squandering a number of chances, but he scored the opener and was a lively presence throughout. His movement stretched the Wolves defence and his tracking back was an example of just what a team player he is - 7.5
Subs
De Jong - His introduction made a huge difference, enabling us to gain a foothold in, and then control, midfield. Won his tackles, intercepted well and then used the ball intelligently - 6.5
A. Johnson - A short but lively cameo, showing a good touch and turn of pace. Drifted from left to right and was unlucky not to see one effort creep in at the far post - 6.5
K. Touré - Brought on for five minutes to shore up the defence - No time to mark

Clichy was my man of the match. He also played an important role in the second goal. He has been one of our best signings!
Clichy MoM for sure and Gaz Baz not far behind him.
It’s a little bit concerning that when we don’t score in a first 20 or so minutes spell of dominance we seem to slip down a gear or two and go into cruise control. We will need to play very much better against the Rags, start DJ and Barry, allow Yaya to take up positions futher forward so that we can get some control in midfield probably sacrificing Nasri’s starting position to accomodate this.
nasri played better than silva against wolves what game was you watching?
Well enjoy it whilst you can. It wont last – not when Sheikh Mansoor does a runner with his money lol. Perhaps 1 6 on Monday lads!!!
