Hart - With United not managing to have a shot on target, he was completely untested. Tried to be commanding when corners were swung into the box and his punching was generally fine - 6.5
Zabaleta - Selected ahead of Richards and more than justified Mancini’s faith with an impressive display. Contained the threat of Nani and then Young later on whilst also providing a constant attacking threat down the right – 8
Kompany - He has been a leader all season and proved that once again last night. Such an authoritative presence in defence, largely nullifying Rooney’s attempts to influence proceedings, and popped up at the other end to score that all-important goal – 8
Lescott – Finally starting to receive the praise he deserves. Has been outstanding throughout the season and was superb again yesterday. Read the game well, dominant in the air and looked comfortable on the ball - 7.5
Clichy – Another one who has been tremendous all season but only just beginning to get the recognition he deserves. Faultless in defence, stopping crosses coming in and forcing Nani to try his luck against Zabaleta, whilst continually advancing down the left and offering us a useful outlet - 8
Barry - In a team full of stars, he is often overlooked but last night hopefully showed many just how crucial he is. All season he has mopped up in front of the defence, making vital blocks and interceptions, and he was just as effective yesterday. My man of the match - 9
Y. Touré - His second half showing, once he was moved further forward into his favoured advanced position, was extraordinary. Completely bossed the game due to his pace, power and ability to surge through the centre. Struggled at times in the first half to impose himself which is why he is just shaded by Barry for man of the match, but he was excellent and proved yet again just what a big-game player he is - 8.5
Nasri - I’ve been critical of him on occasions this season due to his tendency to shirk responsibility, but he was magnificent last night, especially after the opening twenty minutes. Was incredibly tough to knock off the ball, picked the right pass more often than not and worked tirelessly to help the midfield - 8.5
Silva - Found it a challenge at times to make space for himself to create in what was a heavily packed midfield but he got stuck in, battled well and looked promising in possession without ever having that incisiveness - 7
Tévez - As we expected, it was a typically hard-working Tévez performance, constantly harrying United’s defence and giving them no time to relax. On the ball, he was neat without ever having that end product and was taken off early in the second half - 7
Aguero - Never gave United’s backline a moment of peace, such was his constant movement which stretched them the whole time. Looked lively and always wanted to be involved though it never quite came off for him in the box - 7
Subs
De Jong - His introduction enabled Yaya to move forward which is turn resulted in City controlling the game. Apart from one poor tackle on Welbeck, the Dutchman was very sound, adding another protective shield in front of our defence – 7
Richards - Came on late in the game to shore up the backline – No time to mark
Milner - An injury-time substitution to waste a few seconds - No time to mark
Have to hand to Nasri, he is growing into the player we hoped he could be
Nasri was superb, but all ratings good – still dont think yaya did a lot though bar 3 runs in the last 5 minutes?
In Yaya, City has one of the best midfielders in the world. He literally bossed the mid-field and gave United such spanking that they are going to feel sore for sometime. The only missing piece was to put Sir Alex on his lap after the game and spank the life out of him. This game had 6 men of the match Zabaleta, Clichy, Nasri, Yaya, Barry and Kompany.
