Fulham 1 – 2 MAN CITY – PLAYER RATINGS
30 Sep
Hart - Hardly called into action, but dealt with Fulham’s rare attacks comfortably. Good handling from one Riise free-kick and then beat away Ruiz’s effort in the second half - 6
Zabaleta - A constant attacking threat down the right, providing width in the final third and causing Fulham a number of problems. Very unfortunate to concede the penalty - 8
Kompany - One of his more comfortable recent afternoons, despite what Match of the Day made of his performance. Was wasteful a couple of times in possession but relatively untested defensively - 6
Nastasic - Coasted through the much of the game as City poured forward. Far more confident on the ball than Lescott which has seemingly seen him leapfrog the former Everton man in the pecking order - 6
Clichy – Provided the cross that led to Dzeko’s winning goal and was a source of much of our dynamism. Bombed up and down the left hand side throughout the game and defended solidly when needed - 7
Garcia – Best performance so far in a City shirt, which isn’t saying too much. Was there in the first half mopping up just in front of defence, winning tackles and starting attacks. Not too involved after the break but this was a promising display - 6.5
Barry - Great to see him back in Premier League action and produced the type of no-nonsense, effective showing we’ve missed recently. Was able to push further forward than normal due to Garcia’s presence behind him - 7
Y. Touré - Selected in his advanced role just behind the striker but dropped far too deep, especially in the first half. Was always searching to be involved but we needed him playing intricate passes around Fulham’s box, not receiving the ball from the likes of Kompany and Nastasic. Better in the second half - 6
Silva - This may possibly be a touch simplified but it reflects the Spanaird’s importance, in my eyes, to the team: if Silva plays well, City play well. And fortunately, he was back to somewhere near his best yesterday. Showed intent with the ball at his feet, running at Fulham’s backline and picking his passes. Must keep that level of performance up - 8.5
Tévez - Worked hard and showed great strength in possession but couldn’t quite find the link-up play with Aguero of which we know he’s capable. Withdrawn early in the second half - 6
Aguero - Started in a slightly deeper, withdrawn role on the left, albeit with the freedom to drift forward and was seemingly more involved that usual. Bright and sharp, he scored the equaliser and looked dangerous - 7
Subs
Balotelli – Introduced just after the hour mark and looked busy. Gave us a physical threat in the box - 6
Nasri – Another attacker thrown into the mix and played his part in Dzeko’s strike - No time to mark
Dzeko – Not given too much time to make an impression, but he made one! Took his goal, the winning goal, superbly - 7
