MAN CITY v Everton – The PREVIEW: City’s Probable Team

30 Nov

The hamstring injury suffered by James Milner was the only fresh knock sustained against Wigan, so Roberto Mancini has a number of tricky selection dilemmas for this encounter with Everton. Gael Clichy is still sidelined which means that Maicon and Aleks Kolarov are vying for a fullback berth, with Pablo Zabaleta bound to occupy one of the roles.

Javi Garcia had a terrible game during the week and is likely to drop out, which means Yaya Touré is expected to return to a slightly deeper role alongside Gareth Barry, with Samir Nasri hoping to get the nod in a creative role.

Up front, Carlos Tévez has sat out the past three games so will be raring for a start, whilst Mario Balotelli opened his account for the season and will be high on confidence. Sergio Aguero, however, is our number one striker and I would expect City´s front pairing to be the Argentinean duo.

Here is the side Mancini could select:

Manchester City 4-2-2-2 football formation

Referee: Lee Probert – City have been victorious in the past eight matches in which Probert has been in charge, although he did send off Balotelli at the Hawthorns a couple of seasons ago.

William Hill have some excellent odds for this match: Vincent Kompany to score the only goal of the game is an incredibly tempting 116/1, whilst Yaya Touré to score the final goal of the game is 8/1.

Prediction: MAN CITY 2 – 1 Everton – It is bound to be a tight game – our encounters with Everton invariably are – but at home, and with confidence high I would expect us to shade it. Goals to be scored by Sergio Aguero, Carlos Tévez and Nikica Jelavic.

My only change would be at full back as i think zabba would fare better against baines and pienaar. Aleks at LB does not always inspire confidence but i think that is best for this fixture if Clichy is still out.

Wouldn’t be suprised to see lescott at left back everton r very physical and I don’t think mancini will want to disturb the best centrebacks in the league shocking to think theyv conceded 1 pl goal together which was down to john arne riise diving
