Swansea v MAN CITY: The PREVIEW – City’s Probable Team
3 May
Pablo Zabaleta will continue in his right-back role, although Maicon is now fully fit and challenging for a place. Matija Nastasic is expected to replace Joleon Lescott from the side which defeated West Ham, but I wouldn’t imagine there will be too many other changes. Jack Rodwell scored a terrific hat-trick and was the star of the show for the EDS in midweek but bearing in mind his injury record, it’s doubtful he’ll be thrown straight back in.
James Milner’s greater tactical awareness often gets him the nod for tough away games but with Samir Nasri just starting to produce the goods on a more consistent basis, it’s tough to see the Frenchman missing out. Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tévez should continue upfront together, with both looking to continue their goalscoring form before the FA Cup final.
Here is the side Mancini could select:
Referee: Mike Jones – He’s only officiated one other City fixture this season and that was the thrilling 4-3 away win against Norwich in which Jones sent off Samir Nasri.
Prediction: Swansea 1 – 2 MAN CITY – The home side were excellent in the corresponding fixture last season, pressing and passing City off the park, but they seem to have lost some of their spark and with the campaign perhaps meandering towards a close, City’s extra quality ought to prevail. Goals to be scored by Sergio Aguero, Carlos Tévez and Michu.
