MAN CITY 7 – 0 Norwich – PLAYER RATINGS

2 Nov

Pantilimon - It could have been Pantilimon, Hart or even Richard Wright in goal and the result wouldn’t have changed, such was Norwich’s non-existent attacking threat. Pantilimon made one save low down but was otherwise a spectator of our dominance - 6

Zabaleta - Able to park himself in Norwich’s half as we controlled possession and looked to break through, and he was often the one to make a short burst that could be found by our creative midfielders - 6

Demichelis - Constantly looked to be positive in possession, passing the ball forward with purpose rather than just stroke it around at the back. His radar, however, was slightly wayward and he was forced to use his excellent positional sense to recover on a couple of occasions - 6

Nastasic - As comfortable an afternoon as he could have wished for. Strolled through, won the odd header and helped snuff out the visitors whenever they had the courage to cross the halfway line - 6

Clichy - After a couple of iffy displays, he was back to the sharp and energetic worker to which we’re accustomed. Nipped in to make a few interceptions and offered width on the left - 6

Y. Touré - A dominant, powerful performance in the middle, capped off with yet another sensational freekick. With the Blues in total control of the tempo and play, he was able to provide another attacking outlet on the edge of the box and was involved in much of our best play - 8

Fernandinho - Buzzed around in the centre, covering for others and occasionally bursting forward with pace and vibrancy. Will face far tougher battles over the coming couple of months - 7

Nasri - This was the good, purposeful, impactful Nasri. He was full of guile and spark, knew when to play it simple or when to try to force the play, and showed initiative throughout. Deserved a goal but replaced early in the second half, possibly to keep him fresh for the encounter with CSKA Moscow on Tuesday - 8

Silva - I’m running out of superlatives to describe his effortless brilliance. In the sea of our creative genius, he’s the master, controlling all before him with such elegant ease. He has everything: touch, vision, awareness, a tireless work ethic and an improving composure in front of goal. We’re privileged to watch him every week - 8.5

Aguero - My last sentence for Silva could apply here, too. What a star. So comfortable in any situation, whether it’s battling with imposing defenders for the ball, drifting out wide to isolate the fullback, dropping deep to link up play or bursting over the top to stretch the play and utilise his searing pace - 8

Negredo - Understandably taken off at half-time after playing 110 minutes in the Capital One Cup. He produced another impressive showing, full of muscle and movement. Demonstrates such eagerness to drive into the box and is selfless in his all-round play - 7

Subs

Dzeko - Took his goal very well and whilst he’s nowhere near the technical level of our other attackers, he continues to get his name on the scoresheet - 6

Milner - Barely touched the ball - 6

Navas - One startling turn of pace enabled him to sprint through one-on-one but saw his effort saved - 6

Surely the quality (or lack thereof) of the opposition is the reason for that the team don’t have 10′s pretty much all round. What a performance, bring on CSKA. Fernandinho had to get an 8 for me, what a player he is tuning into, won pretty much every ball throughout. dont even have to talk about Silva/aguero/yaya class…

I didn’t think Zabba had a great game – especially in the first half – and to be honest he is worrying me a little
DiMichelis’ distribution was woeful on anything more than 10 metres – he is too old to improve, so I am hoping those 3 passes at the beginning of the second half were a ‘blip’.
Dzeko? I hate him more than ever now as I had a tenner on a 6-0 win! ;)

Difficult to judge how we played really as Norwich were such a poor team.

Silva and Aguero were magical. Nasri was very good, but I didn’t think Yaya was great to be honest – apart from his goal! Very good performance from Fernandinho.

Good team performance and we need to carry on against Moscow.

Oh sorry – get rid of Garcia!

Zab is a bit lost in attack today.
Nasri would have being my man of the match. Simply brillant.
Dzeko should just stay in the 6yards box just to score goals. He is worthless outside the box.
The introduction of milner and navas is purely design for his existance.
Fernandinho is superb, another unsung hero like barry but better.
Demichelis could improve his passing whereas he had a decent game.

I don’t consider Fernandinho to be an unsung hero, I think his elegance and style will get him noticed plus I think he will chip in with one or two. He had is naysayers on here early on with the fickle fan syndrome we so often see, but I said how you can see he ‘has it’, and I notice the knockers are quiet now.

Silva is a genius, I believe after Colin Bell he will be considered our next greatest player ever once he returns to Spain

You can tell by your ratings and descriptions you don’t actually attend the games.

What a strange comment – if you don’t agree with something just say so, the rest of us do, but save the crass comments for BM, now there’s a nice home for you!

You can tell by your comment you know little about football

Funny that, I thought I was there! Silly me having a season ticket if I don’t go to the games…
