Leicester 1 – 3 MAN CITY – PLAYER RATINGS
18 Dec
Hart - Helpless for the goal as a deflection left him stranded with his balance going the other way, and he was otherwise a spectator for much of the game - 6
Zabaleta - Chasing an overhit pass from Dzeko, he pulled his hamstring and was replaced early. His absence will obviously be a huge blow - No time to mark
Kompany - Authoritative at the back, he stamped his firm brand of intensity on Leicester’s forwards, never allowing them space or time - 7
Lescott – Beaten for pace on one occasion around the edge of our box but was otherwise solid enough as he coasted through proceedings – 6
Kolarov - Scored a sumptuous, sensational first and then went close shortly afterwards with a piledriver. Leicester offered no threat down his side and thus Kolarov relished the freedom to bomb forward at will - 8
Garcia - Struggled at times when he was isolated as he has neither the pace nor anticipation to cope, but his passing was more adventurous than usual - 6
Rodwell – Everything he did was overwhelmingly positive. Despite operating as one of the two deeper midfielders, he was always looking to burst beyond the attackers and drive into the home side’s final third. Faded in the second half as he tired but this was a promising showing - 7
Navas - With Zabaleta’s injury, it meant the onus was on him to offer an attacking menace down the right and he duly obliged. Some of his movement and pace on the counter-attack was exceptional and he was a busy threat throughout - 7
Milner - What a spell of form he’s in at the moment. Yes, he runs and runs and runs some more, but there are so many further elements to his game. His positional awareness and in-play intelligence is remarkable, popping up everywhere to receive the ball and move it along efficiently - 8.5
Silva - As has often been said, he’s a joy to watch. Controlled the game at his tempo, always wanting to be involved, whether that entailed dropping deeper to find space or play an intricate pass in the final third. Superb - 8.5
Džeko - Two goals and a generally consistent display. Some of what he does is ungainly and awkward, but he seems to be a little happier now and was more purposeful in his movement - 7
Subs
Boyata - Out of position, he was nervy as he found it tough to settle but improved after the break. He’s never going to be an overlapping fullback, but he can, at a push, do a solid enough containing job on the right of defence - 5
Nasri - Coasted through the final spell of the game - 6
