Burnley v MAN CITY – The PREVIEW: City’s Probable Team
13 Mar
Manuel Pellegrini has stated that he has a fully-fit squad from which to choose for this clash with Burnley, although Wednesday’s encounter with Barcelona may well come into the manager’s thinking. Pablo Zabaleta is likely to start both games, whilst with Gael Clichy suspended in midweek, he should be nailed on to start on Saturday. Vincent Kompany is likely to return at the heart of defence.
Samir Nasri and Fernandinho were both dropped for the last game, the victory over Leicester, but they are pushing for recalls against Burnley. Wilfried Bony is likely to get another start alongside Sergio Aguero, with Edin Dzeko only a substitute.
Here is the side Pellegrini could select:
Referee: Andre Marriner.
Prediction: Burnley 2 – 3 MAN CITY – Both sides are far more comfortable pushing forwards than they are at holding a defensive fort, so this could be an entertaining affair. If the game does become stretched, that should play into City’s hands, although the same was no doubt said before the 2-2 draw earlier this season at the Etihad.
Wilfried Bony to score the first goal and City to win 3-2 is surely worth a cheeky flutter at 67/1.
Zab’s lost the yard of pace he never had and I’ve not been convinced by Cliché in while. I always think if you give Kolorov a decent run of games he always comes good
The author usually hits close to the mark, but I think City will batter these bunch of country bumpkins tomorrow
Come on you Blues
Another enlightening appraisal from Blue. I’m sick of this clown making pathetic remarks. What a moron
Surely you can’t expect everyone to have the same opinion, Andy M
Why don’t you say what you think Andy! Based on this post i would say its a little harsh though I don’t really see how this part made sense ‘Zab’s lost the yard of pace he never had’. Also I disagree about Clichy (hes not an overused phrase Blue ;p), strangely enough I believe he is the one who plays better with a run of games, and around Christmas when kol was injured he was excellent.
Irony
Please see below. I am the real Andy M and I didn’t post those comments. Slagging people off like that isn’t my style.
This is the real Andy M here. I didn’t post the above comments. But I’m flattered someone took the time to discredit me.
I don’t see the point in starting dinho or v.k, let frank start from the beginning – I’m glad dinho “had a go” at Vin its about time that somebody did – the best defender in Italy this year?? Savage who was run out way to early in my opinion’ I trust boyata more at the minute than the “stately” Mr k’ anyway best of luck to all involved tomorrow, i wouldn’t be overly confident in predicting a win for us – it depends on the work the boss put in during the week – PSG are an example for us with their desire & determination on Wednesday night… We badly need to find some of that sauce.
Boyata’s shit and Lampard makes Neil Lennon and Neil Webb look like Alan Wells
Revealed your age there, or you’re Scottish
Ah I get it now. Blue is posting as me as I sided with VfaB recently and he wasn’t happy. The real Andy M.
I can confirm this quote “Another enlightening appraisal from Blue. I’m sick of this clown making pathetic remarks. What a moron” claiming to be from Andy M, was in fact from Blue.
Which ever team we put out will be good enough. Having a go at Zaba, who always gives 150% is a bit sad. He remains a very effective back and a threat on the flank.
Zab’s been amazing, but I feel he’s lost a yard of pace. He’s been one of my favourite players over the last 5 years but his timing is costing us. We could do with four new full-backs, never mind 2
