Barcelona v MAN CITY – The PREVIEW: City’s Probable Team
17 Mar
Pablo Zabaleta is expected to fight off competition from Bacary Sagna on the right of defence, but he’ll need to cut out the moments of rash indiscipline that have crept into his game recently. Eliaquim Mangala and Martin Demichelis are vying for a role at the back, though surely the latter’s form this season and his greater experience should get the nod, with Aleks Kolarov on the left.
Manuel Pellegrini surely, surely, surely can’t play two up front again, which means an extra midfielder coming in for Edin Dzeko. Yaya Touré will return and James Milner is an almost certain starter after being rested at the weekend. Sergio Aguero is likely to start on his own up front.
Here is the side Pellegrini could select:
Referee: Gianluca Rocchi.
Prediction: Barcelona 3 – 2 MAN CITY – The onus is on the Blues to push forward and score at least twice, but a) it will be hard enough to get the ball off Barcelona and b) our attacking efforts will play right into their hands. They can be vulnerable and City will no doubt create enough chances to score, but the big question is whether we can keep them quiet. I have my doubts.
