New documentary All or Nothing proves City are now giants of world football

For football lovers across the world, there are few experiences more exciting than being given behind-the-scenes access to the running of the club you support. Manchester City fans were given the privilege when Amazon brought out their eight-part documentary on City titled All or Nothing. Even the neutrals will agree that All or Nothing is a masterpiece from start to finish as the cameras go where no cameras have gone before in a quest to find out what life at Manchester City under Guardiola is like.

For the football purists, a documentary and all-access pass to behind the scenes at Barnet in the National League would in all likelihood get the pulses racing. There is just something thoroughly captivating about life off the football pitch being revealed to fans who, at one stage, probably had visions of being professional footballers.

Supporters are often left trying to pick up bits of information on social media about their clubs in between watching them on match day and if they’re lucky, getting a picture with one of the players in the parking lot after the game. The goings on during nine to five on the weekdays are otherwise off limits and left up to the imagination.

That was until All or Nothing was released, which followed Manchester City during the entirety of their title-winning and history-making 2017/2018 season where they reached 100 points. Finally, fans were given the chance to see what sets Guardiola apart from all the other managers across the globe and what has been the driving force behind the unprecedented success he has enjoyed.

There is nothing normal about Pep Guardiola’s trophy cabinet with the 47-year old winning 26 major trophies around the world. The Spaniard is a pioneer in the world of football coaching and being given insight into his day-to-day routine is a glimpse into how a living genius operates.

All or Nothing also showed that Manchester City are now at the top of world football with the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid. There were numerous interviews with City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak in which he plots the way forward for the Sky Blues. It’s evident that Al Mubarak’s vision involves City now turning their sights to conquering Europe.

At the end of the documentary with the league sewn up, Guardiola had already focused his thoughts and energy on winning the 2018/2019 league title. Guardiola has a relentless desire to win and he could be the first manager to defend a Premier League title since 2009 if his side are able to repeat last season’s performance. No one is betting against City after last season and the majority of fans across England are in agreement as the Betfair exchange illustrates with City as favourites at 4/6 in the Premier League outright odds.

It’s often said that the true Manchester City fans deserve the success they are seeing after years of underachieving whilst playing in the glaring shadow of Manchester United. One of the lasting impressions viewers are left with after watching All or Nothing is that the success City are enjoying shows no sign of letting up anytime soon.

The club is almost unrecognizable from the third division days of 1999 and the personnel that Sheik Mansour has brought in to run the club are some of the most talented individuals on the planet. Whether it be Aguero in front of goal, Guardiola in the dugout or Al Mubarak in the boardroom, City now have a world-class setup in every department that has made them modern-day giants.
