Top 5 teams to win the Euro 2016 Championship

This is a guest post from Silvia Rosu.
The UEFA Euro 2016 is happening right now. Until the 10th of July, the 24 teams will play fearlessly and bold, until one of them conquers the French stadium. But this may be confusing for many football enthusiasts. With the 24 uppermost teams in Europe competing against each other – including England vs. Slovakia, on June 20 – the idea of only one rising above seems impossible. Therefore, we came up with a top of five squads that are most likely to win the 2016 Championship.
1. Germany
Germany is considered the most successful team at the moment. From the very beginning, the German players debuted in the 2016 Championship with a victory over Ukraine in Lille. However, it was only two years ago when the team became notable. And it happened during the World Cup Semi-Finals, with a 7-1 win over Brazil.
Their midfield, the goalkeeper, and the attack are the main strengths of Germany’s team. And with this in mind, we know it would be hard to stop it from winning over France.
2. France
The last time Les Bleues hosted the Championship in 1998, they won gracefully. In 2016, they are hosting it again. And coach Didier Deschamps has exceptional players at his disposal – Hugo Lloris as the goalkeeper, Leicester’s N’Golo Kante and Blaise Matuidi in the midfield, and Dmitri Payet, Paul Pogba, Yohan Cabaye and Morgan Schneiderlin as playmakers.
3. Spain
Del Bosque’s squad won the trophy once, in 2012, and they don’t intend to lose it anytime soon. Their most efficient strategy is known as the tiki-taka, and it helped them win over Scotland with a 3-0 score and over Cameroon with a 3-2 score. With David de Gea as the goalkeeper, the defense of the Spain’s national team is stronger than the competitors may think.
4. Belgium
After beating Switzerland and Norway, the Red Devils have gained a significant level of popularity. Romelu Lukaku successfully won both matches by scoring one goal. Chelsea’s Eden Hazard is also embellishing his skill as one of the midfield players, so the team does have high chances of winning.
5. England
Roy Hodgson’s team is made of potential match-winners. In the past weeks, England’s national players won over Turkey with a 2-1 score, over Portugal with a 1-0 score, and over Australia. However, they achieved a discussed 1-1 with Russia. John Stones holds the defense unreachable, and Spurs midfielder Dele Alli and Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford represent the central strength of the team.
Overall, England’s football enthusiasts can expect a magnificent victory in this year’s Championship.
So, football fans, which team will prevail?
