Manchester City recorded another victory on Sunday afternoon, securing a comfortable 2-0 win away to Sunderland to just about maintain their title hopes. Pep Guardiola’s side are in a rich vein of form at the moment, and although they were not at their best against the Black Cats, they were still classy and elegant, and thanks to goals from Sergio Aguero and Leroy Sane they returned to Manchester with all three points.
Indeed, it was another eye-catching performance from Aguero. Not only did he score the opener to continue his goalscoring streak, but he also worked tirelessly for the team – something which Guardiola has been stressing is vitally important for the Argentine to do.
The manager spoke after the FA Cup encounter with Huddersfield that Aguero had produced his best performance of the season due to his work ethic, constant harrying and willingness to run for the team. More than anything, that is what Guardiola clearly values in his players. Aguero has seen Gabriel Jesus arrive at the club and make an immediate impression and there were those who feared for Aguero’s future, but more displays like he has produced over the past month will surely allay those worries.
Those who don’t understand the whole picture believe Guardiola is unable to handle the biggest talent, but if we look at the best betting predictions from expert tipsters it is clear to see that Guardiola rates Aguero and just demands a little more than pure goals.
Aguero has responded positively over the last few games to his manager’s cajoling and should he continue this recent improvement, he will certainly have a long and successful future in Manchester. He is undoubtedly a world-class player, and is now adapting to Guardiola’s demands. Together, the pair can fire City to glory.
