Transfer Activity for City

It has been a busy start to the transfer window already by Manchester City. Despite the doors having not yet been officially opened to the market, the Blues have been quick to make their moves and have confirmed the arrival of Bernardo Silva from Monaco.
Now, it appears that Ederson will join shortly to compete with Claudio Bravo for the goalkeeping jersey – and the Benfica stopper will be hoping he can improve upon Bravo’s shaky debut season in Manchester. Check out M88 for the latest odds on City.
There are also strong rumours that Benjamin Mendy will sign and become the new first-choice left-back. That is a move sure to excite City fans, who would no doubt have been impressed by Medny during the two Champions League encounters with Monaco. The defender looked like a typical Guardiola full-back, with pace to burn and full of energy down the left flank. Given the recent departure of Gael Clichy and the ongoing struggles of Aleks Kolarov, it has become a priority position for City to fill.

On the other side, both Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna have left, so it appears that City have targets lined up to join the club. The most likely would seem to be Kyle Walker, with the Blues heavily linked with the Spurs and England man. Again, he has the fleet of foot to play for a Guardiola-managed side, but it remains to be seen whether Spurs would be prepared to let their man join one of their domestic rivals.
The one confirmed addition has been Bernardo Silva, and Pep Guardiola will hope the diminutive Portuguese can have the same impact as his namesake, David Silva. Both are technically gifted individuals, who are at ease when controlling the rhythm of a game, and it appears that Bernardo is being groomed to take over from David. The Spaniard has been an incredible servant to City and still has a couple of years left in his tank to play at the highest level, but he will not last forever and Guardiola has been quick to move for a potential replacement.
Looking forward, it would be a surprise if City did not add another five or six names to their playing squad for next season. Several individuals on the fringes have been released and there are clear ambitions to spend money and go to the next level, so if Guardiola has his way and oversees the arrival of a quintet of world-class talents, then City are set to fly in the future!
