Fulham 2 – 2 MAN CITY – PLAYER RATINGS
19 Sep
Hart - Pair of good saves but couldn’t do anything about either goal. Distribution frustrated Mancini - 6.5
Richards - One stunning last-ditch challenge to deny Dempsey but should have got closer to Zamora to stop Fulham’s first goal. Didn’t have a great impact attacking down the right - 6
Kompany - Given no protection by his midfield and it’s noticeable that he doesn’t look as commanding without De Jong patrolling in front of the defence - 6
Lescott - Similar to how I’d describe Kompany. Let down by Yaya and Barry, but still solid enough. Moved the ball quicker than he did against Napoli - 6.5
Clichy - My man of the match. How Kolarov gets a game ahead of Clichy is beyond me. The former Arsenal covered a huge amount of ground, was solid at the back, an outlet going forward and continued his impressive start to his City career - 7.5
Barry - After a fantastic opening few games this campaign, this was a poor performance. Tried to get forward as much as possible but left huge gaps which Fulham exploited in the second half. Tired very early on, which is understandable as he was rushed back to play against Napoli - 5.5
Y. Touré - Reverted back to his lazy, ineffective, disinterested self. Outstanding against Napoli, he must learn that he can’t pick and choose games to perform in. Had no impact in attack and might as well have not been there in the second half, such was the lack of protection he offered the defence. Looked shattered - 5
Nasri - Another disappointing showing from the Frenchman. Lucky to keep his place after poor display against Napoli, but didn’t show any heart for battle. Shirked a couple of challenges and needs to do more when in possession - 6
Silva - Bright opening half an hour but faded. Perfect through ball for Aguero’s first goal but I was disappointed with his reaction to being substituted. Wasn’t anywhere near his best and will benefit from a rest v Birmingham - 6.5
Aguero - Continued his stunning goalscoring form with another two expertly taken strikes. Had a third correctly ruled out for being offside but he’s a natural finisher. Much better than his showing last Wednesday but still need more all round impact - 7
Džeko - Not nearly as influential as he has been this season. First touch was lacking and as a result he struggled to bring others into the game. Found Hangeland a tough opponent - 6
Subs
Zabaleta - Brought on to tighten up the midfield and to a certain extent, he did his job. Won tackles and gave us extra bite - 6.5
A. Johnson - One good run and cross but otherwise elected to pass to others and decline the responsibility of taking on his man - No time to mark
Tévez - As Blue Days points out on Twitter, he could have been brought on earlier as his tendency to drop deeper could have helped our midfield. Neat footwork in the box created one opportunity but it was blocked. Will start against Birmingham - No time to mark
ur ratings are so biased every week lescott is overrated and he has been yet again this week aguero got 2 goals and only got a 7 how does that work wen barry got a 7.5 midweek wiv a crap performance :/ shocking ratings
he didnt deserve a 7.5 josh but lescott is not overated hes just not as good as kompany. think kolarov does deserve games just not as much as clichy you cant have someone with a strike like that missing for every game. got us back in it against napoli as bad as he was
Ratings and comments absolutely spot on. Toure is SO infuriating, a player of his physical stature and undoubted ability should dominate every game, but far to often looks as though he couldn’t care less
Simple answer Josh, don’t read the blog
The idea of this blog (if VfaB doesn’t mind me saying so), is to provide subjective views on the subject that is MCFC. You don’t have to agree with it. For example, VfaB thought that Mr Touré had a good game against SSC Napoli. However, i thought that he was nothing short of (insert appropriate expletive here)!!!
simple answer? I was jus giving my opinion which is wot everyone else was doing on this blog
touché
The truth of matter is that team was very tired. Napoli game was a difficult game against a very good team [just look how they thrashed AC Millan] and that took a lot out of the players. I am absolutely positive that the current squad can deliver a great season to all fans provided Mancini would leverage the depth in our squad properly. We had 4 wins and 2 draws for our last 6 games and I would take the same outcome for our next 6 coming games in a heart-beat.
MANCITY have an excellent team, the team only need time to gel.WHEN IT HAPPEN WILL RULE(EUROPE&EPL).HAPPY DAYS AHEAD.
your a joke, yaya a 5? maybe a 7.5. hardly missed a pass, set-up many attacks and defended with ease. i agree with clichys rating he played very well but kolarov is the better option in the big games, richards looked like he was playing the role of nasri and silva yet you havent critised him for that (you critize kolarov for it every week). Poor ratings, in particular yaya.
i guess most of the this players are just here b’cos of the money nothg else.
