Newcastle v MAN CITY – The PREVIEW: City’s Probable Team

14 Dec

Gareth Barry is suspended after reluctantly accepting an FA charge for abusive language at the end of last week’s derby against Manchester United, so if James Milner is fully fit, he can be expected to start in central midfield. Otherwise, Javi Garcia is an option to partner Yaya Toure whilst Jack Rodwell is back training but lacking match fitness.

At the back, Vincent Kompany is hoping to make it after being substituted early on last Sunday, but Kolo Toure is on standby is our captain is not deemed ready. Samir Nasri has missed a large chunk of training this week through illness whilst Carlos Tevez, after impressing from the bench against United, is pushing for a starting berth alongside Sergio Aguero.

Paddy Power are offering new customers a FREE £25 bet! They have plenty of specials for City’s fixture against Newcastle, with Papiss Cisse to score first and the Blues to win 2-1 hugely tempting at 75/1. Click here to open an account and claim your FREE £25 bet!

Here is the side Roberto Mancini could select:

Referee: Andre Marriner – One of the Premier League’s top referees. His only previous match in charge of City this season was the 2-2 draw away to Liverpool.

Prediction: Newcastle 1 – 2 MAN CITY – Both sides are struggling for a touch of form at the moment but City should have enough quality and if the Blues are clinical in front of goal, they should return to Manchester with three points. Goals to be scored by Papiss Cisse, Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez.

William Hill have some excellent odds for this match: Matija Nastasic to score the first goal stands out at 34/1 whilst Yaya Touré is 9/1 to score the final goal of the game.

I can’t see us getting anything out of the Barcodes, come 5 o’clock on Saturday I fully expect us to be 9 points behind the scum. That said I’ll still be there, tho I know it’ll be a wasted journey.

I agree with marriner on yourside you lot should manage to steal something from us, despite the fact your a laughing stock in europe and a small shadow compared to your more glamous neighbours and the true team of Manchester (Utd). you bound to get a big call in your favour against us tomorrow…you always do when getting beat.

ps i’m a newcastle fan born and bred by the way, hadda say as i know how obsessed, bitter and scared you lot (fans, club, players, manager) are of Manchester United.

ps2 love how you people forget that outer city and Utd, its Utd with all the connections to Manchester, Utd born and bred by locals while you lot are nothing but a bunch of irish out of towners….learn something about history.

I mean you cant even affroad to own proerty in the city for god sakes and rent down the street from their birth ground.

Then again i live in this world with all the neutrals while being a city fan, you live out there in looney ville.

Having said all this, your bound to go on a sad rant and accuse me of being a utd fan, i mean how dare a newcastle fan respect Utd aye and think of you lot like a joke…your alright thou, you just keep kissing ass with scousers and chelski muppets.

What a sad, bitter little cretin you are! Think it’s time for your medication sunshine, also, I suggest you go buy yourself an A-Z of Manchester(or the very least have a gander at Google maps!) and give it a good look before you embarrass yourself even more, It should be enlightening to find out which football club actually IS from Manchester! As for the “Irish out of towners”…. wow, just… wow, I honestly can’t find the words to respond to such stupidity, you really are retarded if you think City fans fall into this category! Now why don’t you go give some finishing touches to your “Ashley/Pardew out!” banner, as it seems (AGAIN!) that trying to hound out the men who saved your insignificant club is the only thing you have to look forward to this season!

Hahahahaha, so, let me get this right, you think the City of Salford IS in Manchester, but the district of Eastlands, which has a postcode starting with”M” (for Manchester numb-nuts!) isn’t in the city of Manchester?!?!……. BBBBAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA….. what a fucking moron! hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha…. oh God gimme a minute *takes a deep breath*…. ok, I’m alright now….. Tevez tends to drop deep and I think he can play as a midfielder esp an attacking one. I would not mind if Mancini plays Tevez in place of Sinclair and pair up Dezko or Balloteli with Augero.

As for Garcia, unless he has upped his fitness drastically, I believe Mancini should play Abdul Razak or any youth player that has mobility.

    • blue bullet 14/12/2012 at 10:28 pm #

Cant see why we should play razzaq, inexperienced and not shown signs that he is good enough for me. Tevez may be best as a second striker behind Aguero

While I agree Garcia is nowhere near good enough, I agree with Blue Bullet that Razak is just not good enough, at this point. I’d probably go for Milner and Yaya. Again, it’s a waste of Yaya’s forward running ability really, but we have to put up with it, because we don’t have any defensive midfielders, since Garcia came in. Tevez in midfield is not the worst idea, as he can do the job every bit as well as Shrek has over at the library, but, to play him wide would be madness. No pace. I’d be tempted to start Sinclair today, wide left. He might get some change out of Newcastle, pin back their right side and gain some confidence. We’re going to have to use him later in the campaign so keeping him in the reserves until we do is folly!
