Norwich v MAN CITY – The PREVIEW: City’s Probable Team
28 Dec
Gael Clichy is fit and available after missing the previous couple of games through injury, so he is likely to replace Kolo Toure, with the ever-versatile Pablo Zabaleta shifting across to right-back. Gareth Barry is a candidate to come back in to the side, with James Milner and Javi Garcia options to drop to the bench.
William Hill have some excellent odds for this match: Vincent Kompany to score the first goal stands out at 33/1 whilst the Blues are 150/1 to repeat last season’s 6-1 drubbing of the Canaries.
Further forward, Samir Nasri, like Clichy, is ready for selection following his injury sustained against Newcastle, but Carlos Tevez didn’t train on Thursday because of illness and isn’t fully fit. That may hand an opportunity to Edin Dzeko to partner Sergio Aguero, although Mario Balotelli is another alternative having now recovered from his virus.
Here is the side Roberto Mancini could select:
Referee: Mike Jones
Prediction: Norwich 1 – 2 MAN CITY – We have been struggling to fluency recently, but Norwich like to play open, attractive football and that could actually work in our favour. Goals to be scored by Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero and Grant Holt.
Paddy Power are offering new customers a FREE £25 bet! They have plenty of specials for City’s fixture against Norwich, with Yaya Toure to score the final goal of the game hugely tempting at 8/1. Grant Holt to score first and City to comeback and win 2-1 is 75/1. Click here to open an account and claim your FREE £25 bet!
Do you think Mancini would ever, EVER drop YaYa? Even if he took a shit on his desk or something?
No
Pleasantly surprising line up. Nasri shouldn’t have been sent off but was stupid to get up after making out he was mortally wounded hence putting himself in contention for a sending off. Guess it was the the more forceful shove of the forehead but they were both at it and, just by way of example, RVP didn’t get sent off.
Incidentally, I thought it was a good challenge. If only Nasri had decided to play tough guy in the wall against Utd instead of against Bassong. Hmmmmm….
Still no width. Still a problem.
Still baffles me watching YaYa literally walk back when the opposition are on the counter.
He may have his doubters but Gareth Barry is the unsung hero. No thanks Garcia.
