MAN CITY v Liverpool – The PREVIEW: City’s Probable Team

2 Feb

Micah Richards and Vincent Kompany are still sidelined with injury, but Matija Nastasic is available once again and looks set to partner Joleon Lescott in central-defence, despite Roberto Mancini’s hesitance to field two left-footers together. Maicon could feature on the bench, whilst Nastasic’s return should see Javi Garcia move forward into midfield alongside Gareth Barry.

Paddy Power are offering new customers a FREE £25 bet! They have plenty of specials for City’s fixture against Liverpool, with Matija Nastasic to score the first goal tempting at 33/1. Samir Nasri to score the final goal is 9/1. Click here to open an account and claim your FREE £25 bet!

The main selection dilemma is whether to opt for James Milner’s graft, workrate and willing or plump for Samir Nasri and his technical ability. Milner has thrived against Liverpool in the past, especially at the Etihad Stadium, but I would expect Nasri to start in spite of his anonymous showing against QPR during the week.

Here is the side Mancini could select:

Referee: Anthony Taylor – He has only officiated one City match over the past season and a half, a convincing 4-1 home victory over Aston Villa last season.

Prediction: MAN CITY 21 Liverpool – Liverpool, on their day, can be hugely tricky opponents and should they find their passing range, we could be in a spot of bother. However, I’d expect that, being at home, we’ll start positively and hopefully an early goal should settle us down. Goals to be scored by Sergio Aguero, David Silva and Luis Suarez.

William Hill have some excellent odds for this match: Javi Garcia to score the first goal is hugely tempting at 21/1, whilst Sergio Aguero to score first and City to win 2-1 stands out at 36/1. Bet here now!

Garcia has been looking good in the past two games when played in CB. However; I would prefer Milner/Barry combination due to Sturridge pace and Suarez trickery as we need to field a pacier DMs and I believe Milner can do that.

I do hope your prediction materializes!

Since the Newcastle away game on May 6th, Aguero + Tevez has been the starting partnership in 11 premier league games. In only THREE of those games were City winning when the partnership was disrupted by substitution.

Implying your mother is a bitch as a consequence of yourself being a bastard based on a football result is something that I do not believe anyone in right mind would do. Somehow, I truly take pity on you!

we were awful against Liverpool . the most frightening player we had was , our goalkeeper , he terrified me .
We need another goalkeeper , someone to get joe hart on his toes , someone to compete for the gaolkeepers jersey .
We were lucky not to lose
