MAN CITY v Norwich: The PREVIEW – City’s Probable Team

18 May

Brian Kidd must be tempted to give a couple of youngsters a chance in this final match of the season, and with the pressure off both teams, it could be an enthralling encounter. Kolo Touré is out with injury but Pablo Zabaleta should return after missing the Reading game through suspension. Captain Vincent Kompany could also come back, while Joleon Lescott and Matija Nastasic will compete for one starting berth.

It would be nice to see another run-out for Jack Rodwell who, if he can have an injury-free pre-season, could be one to watch next season, while James Milner was terrific during the week and should keep Samir Nasri on the bench. Hopefully, the likes of Denis Suarez and George Evans might feature in the squad, but I wouldn’t expect a much-changed outfit from the one which swept aside Reading with comforting fluency.

Here is the side Kidd could select:

Referee: Mark Halsey – This will be his final ever match as a referee before he retires and he’ll always be remembered fondly by City fans for the five minutes of added time in 1999 at Wembley v Gillingham. He has officiated two City matches this season, those being the 2-0 victory away to Wigan and the 2-1 win at Fulham, during which he awarded the hosts a baffling penalty.

Prediction: MAN CITY 4 – 0 Norwich – City will be determined to finish the season strongly and with the pressure completely off both sides, I think we could be in for an entertaining treat. Goals to be scored by Carlos Tévez, David Silva and a brace from Sergio Aguero.

Paddy Power are offering new customers a FREE £25 bet! They have plenty of specials for City’s fixture against Norwich, with James Milner a tempting 15/1 to open the scoring. William Hill have some excellent odds for this match: Vincent Kompany to score the opening goal of the game is an incredible 31/1, while Carlos Tévez to score a hat-trick, as he did last season against Norwich, is 21/1. Bet here now!

4:0? ..let’s hope so,I don’t see it that way…as City is trying to save a good Name so Tevez and rest of scorers are doing same…I hope to see Dzeko for at list 30 minutes.

Sergio is unfit and will start on the bench, Kompany isn’t starting.. fantastic prediction sir! Tevez is likely to score however.
