MAN CITY v Blackburn – The PREVIEW: City’s Probable Team

14 Jan

Costel Pantilimon is set to appear in goal once more in a cup competition, whilst Micah Richards could return on the right of defence and Gael Clichy on the left. Manuel Pellegrini may want to rest Vincent Kompany for this fixture, meaning Martin Demichelis may be partnered by Matija Nastasic.

Jesus Navas and James Milner are both a tempting 8/1 to score the opening goal of the game. Bet with William Hill here!

In midfield, Samir Nasri, David Silva and Yaya Touré are sidelined with injury, although the latter two are expected to be fit in time for the visit of Cardiff at the weekend. Jack Rodwell is also unavailable, so there could be an opportunity for Rony Lopes. Stevan Jovetic is another who is still no ready to return but there is promising news with regards to Sergio Aguero, as he has been named in the squad.

Here is the side Pellegrini could select:

Referee: Craig Pawson.

Prediction: MAN CITY 3 – 1 Blackburn – City are likely to make a number of changes so I don’t expect a particularly fluent attacking display, but there should still be enough quality to see us progress to the fourth round. Goals to be scored by Edin Dzeko, Alvaro Negredo, James Milner and Rudy Gestede.

Edin Dzeko is 30/1 to score the first goal of a 3-1 City victory. Bet with William Hill here!

Must be careful with the injuries, that’s the last thing that’s needed,Blackburn won’t do a westham, could be a few heavy tackles, a dry pitch would be a convience’ Id like to see fernindino rested, looking a bit light at the moment in that department, what’s the story with Rodwell?? After seeing him last season against Chelsea for an hour were he was awesome, I was expecting a big push onwards, very disappointed with him now, silly talk about him and his growing pains etc, please’ is he the new Darren anderton or mcmanamin?? Remember him? Awful for city, Rodwell to me looks like he doesn’t want it bad enough, I’d go for a rain free 3-1, no more walking wounded please.
