MAN CITY v Burnley – The PREVIEW: City’s Probable Team

27 Dec

Pablo Zabaleta and Aleks Kolarov are expected to replace Bacary Sagna and Gael Clichy as fullbacks, whilst Manuel Pellegrini has claimed that Vincent Kompany is a contender to be named in the side having recovered from his latest muscle injury. That said, it would be foolish in the extreme to rush our captain back so soon. We know how suspect his hamstrings are and we saw what happened the last time he was brought back quickly. It would be far wiser to let him have another week’s rest.

David Silva is in a great run of goalscoring form at the moment and he’s 8/1 to score the opener here. Claim a free £25 bet with Paddy Power!

Fernandinho could step in for Fernando, with Frank Lampard another pushing for a start after only appearing for the final few minutes against West Brom. Jesus Navas could be the man to miss out in midfield. Stevan Jovetic is likely to remain on the bench.

Here is the side Pellegrini could select:

Manchester City 4-2-3-1 football formation

Referee: Kevin Friend.

Prediction: MAN CITY 3 – 0 Burnley – City were able to coast in the second half against West Brom and although the weather conditions in that game will have taken plenty out of the players, the two squads for this encounter are worlds apart. I’m backing David Silva, Frank Lampard and James Milner to grab the goals.

James Milner to score the first and City to win 3-0 is a tempting 26/1. Open an account here and get a free bet of up to £25!

Navas played his best game this season v the Baggies, so why would we rest him?

…..perhaps to give him a rest Jac?

HeyZoos has played a lot of football just lately, good football too, and there are another 2 games following on in quick time.

Whilst we have Frank he needs to start some games to stay match fit as well as play important cameos so someone has to give way if he does?

Merlin is on fire, coming back from an injury and too important to rest altogether. He’ll play an hour and be rested when the game is won; James has earned his corn big style so that leaves Naz and Navas, one has to give way, and if Kolarov and Zaba play it probably has to be Navas.

      Seemples.

It will be wise 2 rush Kompany,he should be allowed 2 completely recorver, after all our defence recently has been very impresive

What a coincidence Chelsea drew and we drew to. No disrespect to Burnley but i cannot see how they could claw back from 2-0 down against a city that has been playing great football without assistance.Well done bookies you have managed to screw every single sport that exists.
