Hart - Made a couple of fairly straightforward saves from long-range shots but was, surprisingly, largely untested. Couldn’t have a done a great deal for the goal - 7
Richards - Such a powerful display. Young troubled him early on but once Micah got to grips with him, there was no contest. Richards bombed on frequently, proving impossible to bring down legally and could have done better with a chance. More performances like this and he will be England’s right back - 9
Kompany - Would have been pleased to face Welbeck as opposed to the movement of Hernandez. Back to his commanding best, winning everything in the air and reading the game so well. Tracked Rooney in the first half every time the striker dropped deep - 8
Lescott - Another one who raised his performance levels. Strong aerially and better on the ball than usual - 7.5
Clichy – Won’t get many headlines but his nullifying of Nani was absolutely vital. Denied the Portuguese winger any space, stopped the crosses coming in and still managed to be an attacking threat. A superb all round display - 8.5
Barry - I thought he struggled in the first half to get a foothold in the game and he always seemed to be late to the tackle. But improved vastly after the break and was instrumental in freeing up space in the middle for Silva - 7
Y. Touré - As it happened, his powerful surges weren’t necessary but he was a key figure in the centre of the park. Allowed United too much space in front of our defence in the first half but was colossal in the second period. Kept possession well, won his tackles and again proved that he is a big game player - 8
Milner - Whenever he’s been given a chance this season he’s impressed, but this was on a different level. Was everywhere in the first half, always giving an option and looking to receive the ball. His movement, intelligence and positional awareness were sensational and was defensively solid as well. Underrated by many but that deserves to change - 9.5
Silva - I cannot praise him enough. Put simply, he’s our best player and has been on another scale to anyone else in the Premier League so far. Controlled the game with his passing and skill. Incredibly tough to knock off the ball, got on the scoresheet and his pass to set up Dzeko’s final goal was beyond belief. In two years, this is only the third 10 I’ve given out and it is well deserved - 10
Balotelli - Sparked City into life with his expertly taken first goal and then made it two with a goalscorer’s finish. In the right place at the right time and has now scored dix in his past five games. Worked hard, linked up beautifully with Aguero and Silva and hopefully silenced some of his critics - 9
Aguero - A perfect demonstration of how to play the front man role despite not being the most physical of players. His pace stretched the United defence, his movement tormented them and he was a constant thorn. Linked up superbly with others, was in the right place for his goal and managed to get over an hour under his belt. If that was Aguero when not fully fit, someone help defences when he’s back to 100%! - 8.5
Subs
Dzeko - Fantastic to see him back on the scoresheet with a brace as he’s looked a touch off recently. Could have scored a couple more but took his second goal very well. Was positive when he came on and will be interesting to see whether he plays against Wolves in the Carling Cup - 7.5
Nasri - Plenty of neat touches when he came on and helped to keep everything under control - 7
Kolarov - Only on the pitch for five minutes but celebrated three goals! - No time to mark
A bit harsh on Barry but all were superb!!!!!!
Every one was fantastic and I might say Clichy has been one of the shrewdest signings we have ever done considering the money paid for him. He totally eclipsed Nani. And might I say Nani who??
On rating you’ve not given here is for Mancini. I thought he got his selection absolutely on the button and completely out thought baconface. We took control of midfield after about 20 minutes and after that the game was ours. Bobby’s best game to date and definitely gets a 9.5 at least.
normally u overate leacott but today i think uv underrated him dzeko 7.5 abit low he was on the pitch for about 15minutes and got 2 goals the first wen united had scored which jus killed off ther lil bit of confidence
he made an assist as well. 2 goals and 1 assist. Not bad in 15 minutes eh?
Dzeko 7,5 you must be joking he deserve at least 9 !!
He also missed two fairly simple chances and I think considering he was only on for 15 mins, 7.5 is fair.
